This will be the second time we speak with our friends in Doshisha this semester. You will be discussing two main topics this time:

1. Nutrition and Food

  a. introduce the semester project and how food and nutrition is related to this topic
  b. share 3 pieces of information that you learned about healthy eating, and how that will affect your body
  c. show 3 examples of things Taiwanese students often eat for lunch (with pictures), ask partner what they think about the taste/nutrition of this food
  d. explain the health/unhealth of these 3 foods based on what the nutrition teacher taught you (with nutrition information)
  e. you will need to explain in simple words what the nutrition information you are talking about means (giving examples makes it easier)
  f. ask about the most unhealthy Japanese food Japanese students often eat

so first I’ll say how much fruit should we eat one day, if we have something like 貧血 we should eat some food that have a lot of calcium, and if we want to be smarter we should eat others creature’s brains or just eat fish.

What we often eat is beef, cooked white rice and pasta.

So cup noodles are very unhealthy because they have a lot of bad oil, fruit is very healthy because it doesn't have any human made sugar and most fruits have many different kinds of nutrition to help the human body, and 丸子類(the reason I type chinese is because it was called balls) are very unhealthy because it is made by a lot of bad oil and sodium. If you eat too much sodium your body might get damaged.

2. Covid and Life

  a. explain the situation with covid in Taiwan for the last year, and also the past 2 weeks (numbers and charts would be very useful)
  b. ask your partner to talk about the situation in Japan
  c. talk about how you feel with this situation in regards to school, social relationships, relationships with family, feeling about society in general
  d. ask your partner to say what they feel about the same topics
  e. talk about your guess about how the covid situation will develop in the next 3 months and 1 year

it's getting worse again, so I feel sad because I can’t see my friends

number of how many people got covid: about 3000 or above.

3. One more area of interest that you feel would be interesting to talk and ask about with your partner

I want to ask what they will do on the weekend because we can only stay at home right now… Make and gather notes (and pictures and graphs) to prepare for this conversation. Post them here.

The picture of my partner

She said the most unhealthy thing she ate was potato chips, and because we finished fast we started chatting about what’s the favorite food we like in both countries. She told me about a food I don’t even know when she talked about her favorite Chinese food. I was surprised because I thought I already knew a lot of food, maybe almost every food. For our favorite Japanese food we both like sushi. After that we’ve started to share the story of our own pets, and she said she had a turtle before but one day when she put the turtle on the balcony, her mom didn't see the turtle so she just stepped on the turtle and at the end the turtle was dead.
