This article will discuss this research team’s design of the government system for our space colony and will tell you about the reason for the choices.This article will also discuss the advantages of this kind of government system, and the concerns and challenges the different management systems are meant to address.

The Goal of Our Lunar Government In our opinion. One of the main goals of this lunar colony is to respect our citizens and listen to their opinion and give them the best environment to live in. This research team believes the use of voting to decide the general policies of our colony will allow us to reach this goal, which is like a democratic government system. The good thing about democracy is that democracy does not create a centralized power base for ruling over the people. It's more fair to people because a voting system gives people a chance to become personally involved with their government. This allows people to be able to say their opinion and they can have more freedom because they don’t have to just follow what the government says all the time. The structure of democracy depends upon the will of the majority. Democracy also requires more time to implement changes. Even though it takes longer, everyone’s opinion is important and also maybe someone has a better opinion than others.

After discussing these issues as a team, this research group has decided to use voting to decide most major policies in our colony, and follow a mostly democratic style of government. However, a totally democratic system of government can be inefficient and ineffective at times, and may not be suitable for every instance or need. Areas where danger is involved or speed of decision-making is needed can use other management systems to decide things. Not always using a democratic voting system can save more time and avoid problems where needed. So we decided to use two different types of management systems which are autocracy and democracy to make our colony system better.

Sections of the Colony After all, We are thinking about dividing the colony into different bubbles for different important functions that need to be performed. These bubbles will have different management systems depending on the characteristics and needs of the work performed. The agriculture section and nature section can be managed by an autocratic system because only a small group of people to work on this area is enough. If we use a democratic management system it will be a waste of energy and time, because there are no people living in this bubble so there is no reason for doing that. For the safety section, which is where the police work, we decided to also use an democratic system so that all the police can decide things together and make a better decision because everyone decides things together it might find out a better idea than one person. Two other sections are power generation and healthcare. We decided to use an autocratic management system. The reason why is because health is a serious issue which requires very specialized knowledge and skills, and if we use voting to manage this area, sick people have to wait all the time and the speed of healthcare work will be slower too. Also, the general public does not have the needed knowledge to make the best decisions, so things here would be better decided by the experts. The power generation section of the colony is also the same; it is dangerous and we need efficiency so that we don’t have to wait all the time. An autocratic management system for the power generation section of the colony is suitable. For the residential section which is where most of the people live, we decided to use a democratic system of management so that people have more freedom and can say their opinion. The education section we decide to also use democracy so that parents can decide what types of learning books they want their kids to learn. We want to respect our citizen's’ opinions, so we use voting and a democratic management system for where people live, so that people can have more freedom and they can also feel respectful. For the agriculture section, there will be robots to do the farming. The safety section is where the fire and police work, and the nature section has trees and also some animals. The education section is for where people study, power generation is for the electricity that will be used to power machines, transportation, and other tools, and health care is the hospital for when people get sick, The facilities section is where things will be built and made, such as robots, roads, and buildings.

We decided to give people in our colony as much freedom as possible. At the same time we can’t let people be totally free because people will start to become lazy and the economy will get worse. Just like If a country is totally free people might murder other people or dangerous things happen. Because of pressure or other things that could happen, the colony may be negatively influenced. This is why total freedom is not a good idea but forcing people is also not a good way to do things. Therefore, each section will have a different management system. If there are serious situations or places we need to save more time, we use autocratic systems to decide things faster, but we use a democratic management system for living space to decide things so people can have more freedom. This is how we decided our colony management system.
