Observations from Roman Holiday

On Roman holidays, people spoke with a balance of directness and politeness; Now, people in general often speak too directly or impolitely.
In the movie, people used to be more willing to express their feelings and opinions. Instead of hiding their own opinions to conform to the public, as often seen today.
In the Roman holidays, males were more gentlemanly and would take initiative(主動) to help females; Today, males do not do that.
In the movie, females are more ladylike and gentle; Today most females are fiercer than males, of course, there are still some females who are ladylike and gentle.
In the Roman holidays, females wore knee-length, and males wore suits completely; Now, society promotes clothing freedom(穿衣自由/ wear whatever you want).
In the movie, female hairstyles were usually short curly hair or tied all hair up. Now, there are no requirements for female hairstyles.
In the Roman holidays, males style their with slicked-back looks. Today there are no popularity and limits about male hairstyles.
In the Roman holidays, males were expected to be gentlemen, and females were expected to be ladies. Today, people do not expect to behave anything, just be yourself.
In the past, when people were dancing, males would directly put their hands on the females’ waist. Today, males no longer embrace a female dancing partner.
In the Roman holidays, the male main character took the drunk female main character back to his home. This is impossible to happen now, people will call the police immediately.
In the movie, when males shake hands with the princess(female main character), males kiss the princess’s hand. Now, it’s almost unheard, people only shake hand(it’s possibly due the Covld-19)
In the movie, the physical contact between males and females were more natural and often. Today, people rarely(不常見) have physical contact between gender, otherwise, people may be misunderstood as perverts.
