Thoughts On Affirmative Action
對於平權法案的看法

Oftentimes in life, our success depends on factors which were decided without our own active participation. In order to alleviate some obvious discrepancies in the degree of difficulty of the lives of people born to different circumstances, affirmative action is a policy or legal path towards assisting those who have been deemed to face historical or overly unfair difficulties arising from factors which they had no control over. Well seemingly positive and helpful when looked at from a surface level and direct point of view, affirmative action is an issue that is nevertheless hotly debated and argued about for a variety of different reasons, encompassing issues of fairness, plausibility, practicality, and the forms with which it may take, to just name a few. The students studied examples of affirmative action and the reasoning and logic behind why these policies were put into place. Here they discuss their personal feelings and thoughts on this complicated matter.
