One of the most obvious differences between the genders is physical characteristics, which includes the differing abilities of the genders to pick up on and process signals and data from the outside world. Among the more sensitive of human senses is the ability to hear sound. When thinking about it from a gender perspective, we may ask ourselves if there's a difference between the genders in their sensitivity towards different pitches of sound. This may have different applications when attempting to use sound as a means to catch attention or perhaps provide information about danger. An experiment was set up in an attempt to identify the most generally agreed upon discomforting pitch. Would it be different between the genders?
