Gattaca Review and Discussion

A boy named Vincent is a naturally born child. He has a brother named Anton, who is a genetically modified child. They like to have swimming competitions. Because Anton has better genes, he always wins. However, one day, Vincent miraculously wins. After that, Vincent leaves home and starts living by himself. His dream is to go to space, but because he is naturally born and has poorer genes, no company wants to hire him, and he can only find work as a cleaner. One day, he meets a genetically modified person named Jerome, who allows Vincent to use his identity to work at the space agency. In the end, Vincent got the chance to go to space and achieves his dream.

Every person can make his life better as long as he work hard enough. In the movie, we can see that Vincent breaks through his limits through his perseverance in pursuing his dreams and his consistent efforts.

A person's ability limit is determined when they are born. In the movie, we can see that the society thinks that they sound use genes to measure a person.

I think, in most cases, people can make their lives better by working hard. Things like good health, career growth, regular exercise, and a balanced diet, combined with discipline and hard work, can lead to improved physical and mental well-being. Putting in extra effort at work, improving skills, and seeking opportunities for growth can help advance careers and increase income.

However, some skills, like basketball intuition or gaming ability, seem to be innate. For example, in Taiwan, there's a famous mobile game called Arena of Valor, and a professional gamer named Nailiu has better skills than anyone in the world. Despite others spending more time training, they can't beat him, but these cases are rare. In other case Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson transformed from a pro wrestler to a global movie star, showcasing his success through dedication and relentless work ethic. In general, most people can change their lives by taking enough actions.
