“Don't judge a book by its cover”, we are taught from an early age, but if not the cover, what are we to use to quickly gauge the content and value of the book? As sight is the main sensory process we employ for most areas of life, appearance, both of objects and people, has been and will likely remain a big factor in how we judge the value of things and people.
