Designing an Experiment to Test Our Destressing Images

We want to find out whether our destressing images can actually achieve our goals, we designed experiments to scientifically test them. You can read about the experiments we designed here. We hope that we'll be able to carry out our experiments next semester.

  • Abstract
  • Research question
  • Hypothesis
    • Define independent and dependent variables
  • Prediction
  • Materials
  • Description
    • Size for all experimental and control groups
    • How to change the independent variable and how to measure that change
    • How to measure the resulting change in the dependent variable(s)
    • Requirements or restrictions for test subjects. For example, “cannot be color blind” or “need to be over 18 years old” etc.
    • Specify how many times you intend to repeat the experiment (should be at least three times), and is that number of repetitions sufficient to give you reliable data
    • Is this experiment duplicable by another individual
  • Step-by-step list of all procedures
  • Procedure flowchart
  • Illustration of the scale for measuring the test subject's response
