Service Design for Inclusive Society
As one of the “services” the students produced this semester, we researched the experience of how an elderly person might perform some daily tasks. This included understanding how people really use and interact with facilities and establishments, the individual steps that make up the complete process, and the individual details that might potentially cause difficulty or even danger to our elderly members of society. We analyzed the causes of these complication points and suggested changes to the design of facilities or changes to processes which might alleviate these situations. By observing how the normal user interacts with these processes and simulating the user experience ourselves, the students were able to gain a deep understanding of the issue and collect valuable information with which to formulate alternative ideas and solutions. The video presentations of each topic are included here.
