As always, we are immensely thankful for our partners this semester and all the assistance they have given us in our learning mission. Without help from industry and society, our program would not be able to cover the same about of depth and breadth that it does, and our learning would feel much less immediate and real. Not only do our partners provide real-world input and hands-on experiences that we would not normally have access to, they also serve as a model for the values and beliefs we emulate and strive towards.

The Datong Elderly Daycare Center provides multiple services to the elderly of the Datong district and Greater Taipei area. These services include monitoring services and visits for solitary elderly, an emergency rescue system, acting as a social gathering and event center, linking up resources in the community, running education and advocacy programs regarding the topic of dementia, delivery meals to solitary and disabled elderly, and much more. In addition, the center provides a variety of courses for the elderly to take part in, including the areas of computer usage, art, language, sports, and other leisure activities. At the center itself, services provided include health care management, life care services, rehabilitation assistance, activities of interest, support services for family members, transportation services, welfare consultation, and resource sharing.

We would especially like to thank Ms. Huang Lin-Hui, who graciously welcomed us and educated the class on the content of elderly care, some information regarding the topic of dementia, and also the value of social service. It is thanks to individuals like Ms. Huang that Taiwan's strong social support network can be maintained.

臺北市大同老人服務中心為大同區及大台北地區的長者提供多項服務。這些服務包括對獨居老人的關懷訪視服務、緊急救援系統、扮演社交聚會和活動中心、連接分享社區資源、開展有關失智症主題的教育和宣傳活動、為獨居和失能老人送餐， 以及更多。此外，中心還為長者提供各種課程，包括電腦使用、藝術、語言、體能和其他休閒活動。日間照顧中心自身提供的服務包括健康管理、生活照料服務、復建協助、興趣活動、家庭支持服務、交通服務、福利諮詢、資源共享等。

尤其要感謝黃琳惠老師，她親切地接待了我們，並向班級講解了養老的內容、失智症的一些知識，以及社會服務的價值。正是有像黃女士這樣的人，台灣強大的社會支持網絡才能得以維持。

The professional team of the Taipei City Assistive Device Center includes assistive device assessors, social workers, maintenance technicians and administrators. The services provided include assistive device consultation and referral, assistive device evaluation, assistive device follow-up re-evaluation, assistive device repair, second-hand assistive device lending, assistive device disposal, and assistive device display and promotion.

We would like to especially thank Mr. Su at the Assistive Device Center, who gave us a great tour of the environment and explained the usage and safety guidelines for many of the most common assistive tools that we were researching. It is because of great work of Mr. Su and others like him that the lives of many elderly and disabled can maintain ease and dignity.

合宜輔具中心專業團隊包含輔具評估人員、社工、維修技師及行政等，提供的服務包含輔具諮詢及轉介，輔具評估，輔具複評，輔具維修，二手輔具借用，輔具回收，以及輔具展示體驗及社區宣導。

我們要特別感謝輔具中心的蘇老師，他帶我們參觀了一很棒的環境，並解釋了我們正在研究的許多最常見的輔助器具的使用和安全指南。正是因為有蘇先生等人的貼心工作，許多長輩和殘疾人士的生活才能保持安逸和尊嚴。

Shizu Hayashi is a registered and licensed nursing care worker with ニチイケアセンター Nichii Care Center, a chain of elderly care centers in Japan. She came and worked with the students regarding proper health care procedures, special points of caution, and also shared interesting stories from her job taking care of geriatrics.

Shizu Hayashi 是日本連鎖老年護理中心 ニチイケアズンター Nichii Care Center 的註冊執照護理員。她來和學生們一起討論正確的醫療保健程序、特殊注意事項，還分享了她在老年照護工作中的有趣故事。

The Datong Elderly Daycare Center is one of the many charitable units of the Taipei Lixin Charity Foundation. Taipei Lixin Charity Foundation runs many institutions related to charitable relief, including government commissioned social welfare services and related businesses, setting up long-term care service agencies and providing long-term care-related services, funding public welfare activities, organizing social welfare activities, compilation and publication of charity-related publications, establishment of social welfare-related service centers, and training of social workers and long-term care professionals. The vision of the Lixin Charity Foundation is to become a guardian and a trustworthy social welfare organization that nurtures social service talents and service targets, so as to realize the ideal of “Great Harmony in Society”.

大同老人暨日照服務中心為臺北市立心慈善基金會的許多慈善事業單位之一。臺北市立心慈善基金會運行許多關於慈善濟助事項相關業務， 包含接受政府委託辦理社會福利服務事項及相關的業務，設置長期照顧服務機構並提供長期照顧相關服務，資助公益活動，舉辦社會公益活動相關事項，編印慈善相關刊物，設置社會福利相關服務中心，以及培訓社工及長照專業人員相關事項。立心慈善基金會的遠景為成為孕育社服人才與服務對象的守護者、值得信賴的社福團體，以實現『禮運大同篇』之理想。

Since 2004, the First Social Welfare Foundation has overseen the “Taipei City Assistive Device Service Plan for the Disabled - South District Assistive Device Service” (now renamed as the Taipei City South District Assistive Device Center), and from 2013 to the end of 2016 operated the “Taipei City Assistive Device Center”, continuing to operate the center after 2019, providing services such as consultation, referral, evaluation, maintenance, lending, recycling and promotion of assistive devices. The First Social Welfare Foundation has provided assistance to more than 140,000 individual users to date.

Many people with disabilities are unable to carry out daily activities smoothly due to the impact of certain conditions or diseases. By using assistive devices, disabled or the elderly can improve their independence in life so that family members can take care of them with less effort and the care received can be more efficient and comfortable. In order to enable those in need of assistive devices to effectively obtain appropriate assistive devices and related resources, the First Social Welfare Foundation established the “First Assistive Device Center” in 1984, which is the first assistive device service unit in the country providing quality facilities and professional service.

第一社會福利基金會自2004年起承接「臺北市身心障礙者生活輔助器具服務計畫-南區輔具服務」（現改為臺北市南區輔具中心）至今，另於2013至2016年底承接「臺北市合宜輔具中心」，並於2019年持續承接本中心，繼續提供輔具諮詢、轉介、評估、維修、借用、回收與宣導展示等服務，第一社會福利基金會提供輔具服務至今，已提供超過140,000人次的輔具服務。

許多身心障礙者或失能者，因為疾病影響，無法順利進行日常生活活動，透過使用輔具，能協助身心障礙者或長者增進其生活的獨立性、使家屬照顧得更省力、被照顧者更舒適。為使輔具需求者能有效取得合適的輔具與相關資源，第一社會福利基金會自民國84年起成立「第一輔具中心」，為全國第一所提供輔具服務單位，致力於提供專業的輔具建議。
