Findings and Observations on Elderly Simulation
By Yiler Huang
- movement
- some of them looked like it is hard to lift their legs, especially the third volunteer
- When they walk, they walked more carefully because they had the blurry glasses on
- difficulties
- most of the volunteers said that the blurry glasses was the most effective part in the suit, they said they couldn’t see words or small things properly
- some of them said the gloves made it hard to grab tiny things like coins, and they spent quite some time to get the right amount of coins
- reactions
- most of them thought the glasses were the most effective part in the suit
- the elbow wrap seemed didn’t affect them that much, none of them mentioned the elbow wrap during the interview
- performance
- the shopping simulation took the longest time for the volunteers to finish, is the one they mentioned the most
- It seemed like the ping pong simulation is the easiest one out of the three simulations, only Dr. Bell mentioned that it was a little bit hard to see things coming to him when he had the glasses on.
