About This Website
This site shows sections of the learning and production process for the program this semester. This semester, the big social issue we explored was with regards to aging and social design for inclusive society. We learned about service, the service process, and service design. As part of this learning process, the students conducted research, case studies, and simulations. We conducted extensive research on the needs of the elderly, the reality of their user experience, and how this issue manifests itself in the real world. The big goal for this period was to create ideas and work to share information about this topic, create art that lowers stress for the elderly and general public, educate people about the experience of the elderly in some parts contemporary life, and formulate some suggestions about how we might be able to design or do things differently to make the environment friendlier for our elderly members of society.
This semester once again involved the students in personally interacting with a real-world issue, cooperating with industry and social partners, researching, designing, creating, and communicating for impact, and continuing to learn and grow both in skills and as responsible and contributing social beings. The work here includes writing, videos, code, and more, and has been created with the intended audience of students, teachers, social workers, policy makers, and the general public. We hope you enjoy the results of our endeavors and encourage you to get involved in these issues yourself.
