====== Steve: Observations and Reaction to Self-Experience with Elderly Simulation Suit ======

Today, I got a chance to try on the old suit. It was a pretty uncomfortable experience to put it on. It was weird having a bunch of people standing so close to you and around you. It did not feel very good. I had to do activities like climb stair, carry weights, and hit someone's hand. The hitting someone's hand was supposed to be simulating moving one's arms and the carrying weights was supposed to simulating catching the bus. It was pretty easy to be honest. The suit did not affect me very much until I was going down the stairs. I could not move my ankle and tripped because of that. I think we should remind the volunteers to be careful because if they get hurt, we might be responsible. However, the old suit also did another thing very well. It limited my vision a lot and I could not really see the individual stairs very well. After doing this I have realised it is very important that we pay attention to old people. Simulating being old for less than 5 minutes and I have almost gotten myself hurt. Old people have to spend a long time being old so if I can hurt myself in 5 minutes they might hurt themselves a lot if we do not help them. For one, we can ensure that elderly people do not need to climb stair and we can give them the correct glasses so that they can see properly. After experiencing this, I will try to be more patient with old people because I can empathise with them now.
