Put Response Writing in Academic Report Format

Today we're doing a street survey about necessity and luxury, we show the subjects 5 things and the subjects will decide which one is a necessity and which one is a luxury. Over this street survey, we want to know “Do people of different generational groups have different perceptions about what physical things are a “necessity” and what is a “luxury”?” So I will talk about the different answers between different generational and show the data. The first generations are kids and students, let us call them” Group 1”. “Group 2” is the people that are working. The last generations are the elderly people, they are “group 3”.

This data is for “group 1” as you can see 100% of the group 1 people say light is a necessity, It is the reliable answer because if we do not have light, we can’t do anything at night. Also light is the only one that all the people had the same idea. When group 1 people think about the house most of them take more time to think about it. All the group 1 people are young so their answers are more inclined to the house their parents bought for them. 14 out of 24 people think the house is a necessity, the other 10 people think is a luxury. The third one is the Internet, 20 out of 24 people think is a necessity, it looks reasonable because before we talk to group 1 people most of them are using their phones. 58% of the people say AC(air conditioner) is a necessity, and some of them say the summer in Taiwan is too hot so they need AC, but I have a different answer and idea I do not agree that AC is a necessity because if people do not use AC they will not die, I actually think electric fans can replace air conditioners. The last one is their own car and motorcycle. This is just the opposite of the previous one, 58% of people think cars and motorcycles are luxuries.

In the second data, For “group 2” 100% of the people tell us light is a necessity, It isn't special. because nobody says light is a necessity. In the second one, 60% of the group 2 people say a house is a necessity, but I feel so surprised about that. if we compared the group 1 and group 2’s data we can see that it had 58% of the group 1 people think a house is a necessity, it is so close to the group2 people, the reason why I feel surprised is the people in the group2 are all working already so they may leave from their parents, that means they need to pay for that they live. My own guess was that group 2 people may have stronger feelings about having their own house. For the Internet, 90% of group 2 people tell us it is a necessity. It seems reasonable, in today’s society most working people use the Internet to do work. especially because of the epidemic, many people can not go abroad, they just need the Internet to have meetings online. AC for 75% of the group 2 people is a necessity. I think this is because right now all the working place have AC and if people feel hot it is difficult for people to focus. The last one is owning a Car or Motorcycle. only 20% of the group 2 people think is a necessity. compare to group 1 people, 42% of the group 1 people think is a necessity. All of the group1 people can not drive and, they want their own car but workers have a lot of meetings to go to, Isn't it more convenient to have your own car?

For the last group, group 3 I feel so surprised about their answer, Like the first one light I know that 100% of the people that we ask are all say light is a necessity but I still think it may have some elderly answers like ”we can use candles so we do not need a light” but nobody answers this. The second one is the house, which is the most normal answer from group 3😂. It has 92% of the group 3 people say the house is a necessity, and all of them are living in the house that they or their parents buy so if they do not have their own house they are going to be homeless. Group 3 people 85% of them think the Internet is a necessity, O~M~G~ !!! In my impression, I remember all of the elderly that I meet read newspapers most of the time. For AC 62% of people think is a necessity, but when the elderly are young I do not think they have any AC, so why do they need AC now? The last one owns a car or motorcycle 69% of them say is a necessity but I have not seen any elderly that drive car, I often see elderly are taking Mar or the bus. Do they really need their own car?
