Students have been learning to program graphics using the JavaScript programming language. In the past three semesters, they have been learning the SVG.js library for programming vector art. In this semester, they applied that and the mathematical concept of matrices to create images which evoke the idea of “light”. Below you can see some annotated images point out their usage of concepts from math. At the links below you can see their individual work and the code they wrote to realize those illustrations.

In this learning task, the students practiced the application of new and old math concepts they've learned into their code to generate “light” illustrations, for example, trigonometry, geometry, and matrices (rectangular arrays of numbers).
