Case Study Report
By: Yuna
Introduction
We had a case study this weekend. I interviewed two people, one of my friend YiZhen and my aunt, as the subjects of my case study. My friend YiZhen is 15 years old, and she is a middle school student too. My aunt is about 30, and she is already working right now.
Research Methods
I ask them 5 topic questions, and every topic questions has some small questions that relate to the topic questions. I asked my friend using a telephone interview with YiZhen on February 18, which is a saturday. I asked my aunt face to face on February 19, which is a sunday. When I was doing the interview, I also recorded the whole conversation. After I finish the interview, I’ll talk about what I feel about their answer, and which level(s) of Maslow's Hierarchy that they were at.
Data & Result
My friend YiZhen, she thinks that people should get a job, and people must get a job. The reason that she think people should get a job is because that all the need in your life need your work to earn money, and use the money that you get from your work to pay for all needs in your daily life. Everything in your daily life like food, clothing, housing, transportation and entertainment, all of which require your work as your foundation (食衣住行娛樂,所有的一切都需要你的工作作為你的基礎). And I agree with her on this point. In today's world, everything you need in your daily life is related to money, everything needs money. If you don’t have a job to earn money, then you can’t pay for everything you need in your daily life. YiZhen thinks that when people at college, they can try to work(打工實習). She said that some people start looking for a job when they are in high school. She thinks maybe during the third or fourth year of college. YiZhen said that she thinks she will be more inclined towards artistic work. The reason is because she is learning more about art, and also about her own interests. She wants to refer to clerical work, such as accounting, that kind of work, that kind of record work. YiZhen thinks that about 30000 is the basic salary that can barely support the basic needs of a person living alone. But if that person has his/her own family, has his/her wife/husband, and children, she thinks they need at least 70,000 to 80,000 a month. Also, she said she wants to have about 70,000 to 80,000 a month for her to live along.
YiZhen thinks people don’t have to be married, it depends on people themself. She thinks getting married is just finding someone to rely on for yourself. Your parents won’t be with you for your whole life. Marriage is all about giving you a notion of belonging. If people are going to marry, she thinks the best should be between 25 and 30 years old.
