Illusions and Perceptual Problems with the Human Brain

By: Yuna

Today in class, we learned that sometimes people’s brains will make people see things that are not true. Sometime our brain will lie to us, let us see the things that is not the true, is a kind of illusion(錯覺). Our brain will try to make the illogical things logical and give it logic. Maybe when we talk to people, and we talk about the things that they don’t understand, their brain will make the things that they think are illogical and make it be the way they think is logical. That might let them misunderstand the things we want to talk about. For example, person A is listens to the music, and the sensory input that person B sees is a person, a computer, and music. In A’s live, people usually listen to music on the computer by using YouTube, Apple Music, things like that. In B’s live, people listen to music on CD or MP3 Players, so person B doesn’t organize the computer with music, so person B thinks person A is watching video. This is a example of when people organize inputs in different ways it can lead to a wrong direction of the interpretation. To try to avoid this kinds of problems, we should give people more information, and also knowing their background, think about what they know, and what they might not know.
