====== Science Experiment Design ====== | ====== UV Measurements and Experiment Design 紫外線測量與實驗設計 ====== |
Each student designed an experiment to measure the effect of one factor/variable, of their choosing, on the UV level. | |
| One of the learning goals this semester is to practice experiment design, which is a valuable skill that equips students with the ability to systematically investigate scientific questions and acquire meaningful data. Through this process, students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills. To achieve this learning goal, the students were tasked with designing an experiment to assess the effects of environmental conditions on UV levels using a self-made Arduino UV sensor. They had to identify and define the variables they want to investigate, such as cloud cover, surface reflectivity, and altitude, etc. Then, for planning the experimental setup and data collection procedure, they needed to consider control variables to ensure accurate comparisons. Lastly, they analyzed the collected data to draw meaningful conclusions. This learning goal not only fosters scientific inquiry but also nurtures skills in experimental design, data analysis, problem-solving, and communication, all of which are crucial for success in various disciplines and stages of life. |
