Dr. Renick Bell is a computer musician, programmer, and researcher based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Originally from West Texas, he has lived in Asia since 2001, currently serving as a Lecturer in Digital Media at RMIT University Vietnam. A pivotal figure in the global algorave movement, Bell improvises bass-heavy, generative electronic music by writing and modifying code in real-time before live audiences. He is the author of the open-source live coding libraries Conductive and Konduktiva, tools designed to facilitate complex rhythmic improvisation. His work examines the intersection of human intentionality, software interfaces, and algorithmic logic.
