3D Dogs 3D狗繪製 An important goal for this semester’s mission of helping homeless animals is to raise funds to support animal charities such as our partners at Taiwan SPCA. One way that we planned to do this was through the design and manufacture of small, 3D printed dogs, which our students completed from ideation to finished product. These dog figures would later go on sale, with proceeds being donated to animal charities.

Dog Advocate 領養倡導者 Helping an animal get adopted is a very personal, emotional, and even spiritual process, as our students have learned. Two person student teams selected a particular dog that they met in our visits to the RuiFang animal shelter with the mission of being an advocate who would work towards its adoption.

Audio Collage 聲音拼貼 As part of our original exhibition plan, creating a feeling of immediacy for the viewers was a target we planned to achieve. Creating a realistic atmosphere and telling a good story depends in large part on well-executed sound design.

First Dog Illustration 狗狗插畫初稿 Continuing their development and practice in design and visual communication, as well as their skills in Inkscape image design software, one of the earlier tasks this semester was to draw dogs which met the criteria of “giving viewers a positive feeling about dogs”.

Generative Dog Animation through Coding 程式動畫創作 CrazyDog.js is yet another assignment we worked on which involved the use of software. We used the editor p5.js to create animations which included movement, changes in color, and randomization of output. This involved not only programming skills, but also math knowledge as well.

Day in the Life of a Dog 從狗狗的視角看世界 “Day in the Life of a Dog” was planned to be an important and immersive part of our semester-end art exhibition. The goal was to allow the audience to see from a dog’s eye view, the challenges, dangers, and experiences that homeless dogs face on a daily basis.

Day in the Life of a Shoe 從鞋子的視角看世界 This assignment was designed to give students practice in seeing and filming visual images in a different way. This was also the pre-assignment to “Day in the Life of a Dog”. As a member of the general public, we do not often experiment with how our recording tools can be used creatively to communicate messages in less common ways.

Event Marketing 宣傳影片 In order to attract a potential audience and create some excitement for this exhibition, our class recorded a promotional video which introduced the different work assignments that made up this exhibition. The students did a great job in front of the camera and may have a future in show business!
