Research on Homeless Dogs

In order to take and push for real action to better the current situation, our class researched different topics related to the issue of animal welfare. This process required the students to learn how to identify actionable points, design logical and valid questionnaires, get out of the classroom and interact with the general public, collect and analyze data, and write an academic research style report.

Separate student groups did research on the following topics related to homeless dogs. Research teams consisted of four people each. Click the picture or the link to read their research.

This research group decided to study the legal policy of animals and hopefully let the policy stricter to reduce the cases of abusing animals. This research group suggests increasing jail time as a punishment of animals abuse cases.

People in animal shelters can use information about things like size and eyes when picking dogs to be on their marketing materials. They can also change how fat or thin the dog is by changing their diet plan and the amount of exercise they get. How people judge what is cute might be similar to how they judge other humans or themselves.

This research group chose to look into people's attitudes on government spending for Animal Welfare. They hope for a part of the infrastructure tax to be spent on animal shelters. 该研究小组选择调查人们对政府为动物福利支出的态度。 他们希望将基础设施税的一部分用于动物收容所。

Our team members think that many organizations are already advocating for dog adoption or fundraising, but that will only help the dogs in the shelter, so we want to help the dogs who stray outside and improve the lives quality of stray dogs. 我們小組成員認為已經有許多團體在執行倡導大家領養狗狗，或者募款，但那只會幫助收容所裡的狗狗，所以我們希望能夠協助那些在外流浪的狗狗，並提升流浪狗的生活品質。
