Research Surveys 研究調查

Doing research is not something that most people might expect of junior high students, but it is excellent practice in following a logical process in exploration and deeper analysis of issues.

We learned about different types of question formats and their purposes, and practiced how to collect data, analyze results, and draw logical conclusions. Another difficult challenge that the students were faced with involved administering surveys and interacting with the general public, a task which pushed them out of the comfort of the classroom and forced them to mature and overcome fears.

We also discussed how data can be manipulated to give certain messages, and how numbers can lie. The importance of looking deeper and formulating our own conclusions was an important learning point that was emphasized in this learning period.
