Are you a citizen of a country? Citizenship can define where you are from or what language you speak. This is important because it is important to know if you are a citizen or not. You should listen to me because I am a citizen of the world and the US. I will be talking about if citizenship should be earned or not, my evidence, and how citizenship can affect your life.
I think citizenship should not be earned because everyone is equal in this world. Just like the situation in Ukraine, people want to move out but can't go to some places where they have family because they need to earn citizenship. I think it is unfair for the people in a crisis and people in other situations. Citizenship is also very important for people to live a normal life in a country.
Here is my evidence, citizenship is very important for people to live a fair and free life in a country. I know this because an article by the New Americans Campaign stated that the top 6 benefits of being a citizen were: Protection from deportation, citizenship for children under 18, family reunification, eligibility for goverment jobs, freedom to travel, and the right to vote. For example, the last two benefits basically signifies that being a citizen helps you get more freedom. Another piece of evidence I found was an article from USCIS. This article stated that when people have citizenship earned it allows you to get assitance from the U.S goverment when outside of the U.S. This means that the U.S goverment will try to protect you if you get in to a sketchy situation else where.
A citizenship can affect you life because it will give you a right to have a job, a right to vote, etc. If you don't have a citizenship, you won't have any freedom and could get discriminated in the country you are in. Also, you would not have money cause it would be hard to get a good paying job without a citizenship.
All in all, I hope that my writing about if citizenship should be earned or not, my evidence, and how citizenship can affect your life helped you think about this problem. Citizenship should be earned because it's unfair to many people and can possibly change lives. Now, you should ask this question to youself and do some research about citizenship. If you are a citizen of a country, think of the rights you have compared to people who don't have one.
