This writing will discuss the purpose and goals of our colony. What are the goals of our colony? What do we need and what do we want in our colony?

Why Humans May Need To Move To A Moon Colony One reason why humans may need to move to a lunar colony is because the Earth may die of global warming or pollution. For example, Earth’s temperature has risen 0.14 degrees fahrenheit a decade since 1880 and 0.17 degrees since 1901. 140 years later, 2020 was the second-warmest year on record based on NOAA’s temperature data (Lindsey and Dahlman, 2022). As a result, we may need to move out to another planet and create a new colony to survive. Currently many people are using vehicles which could bring in more pollution to Earth. The type of pollution that vehicles make is air pollution. Air pollution could cause heart disease, lung cancer, and other respiratory diseases.

為什麼人類有可能需要搬去月球的殖民地？ 人類可能會需要搬到月球的殖民地的其中一个原因是地球可能會因為全球暖化或者是環境污染和死亡。比如說，自1880年以來，地球的溫度每10年上升0.14攝氏度，自1901年以來上升0.17攝氏度。140年過後，根據NOAA的溫度數據，2020年是紀錄以來溫度上升第二溫的一（Lindsey and Dahlman, 2022）。因此，我們有可能需要搬到另一個星球，創建一個新的殖民地來生存。現在很多人都在開車，這可能會給地球帶來更多的污染。車子產生的污染類型是空氣污染。空氣污染可能會導致心臟病，肺癌和其他的呼吸系統的疾病。

Another reason humans may need to move to another colony is because Earth has extreme climate change. Extreme climate change could cause many heat droughts and wildfires which could impact the lives of animals and humans. Severe natural disasters could cause destruction to the environment and loss of life. According to NASA Earth Observatory (Carlowicz, 2021) ), 400,000 buildings were destroyed and nearly 16,000 people were killed in Japan’s 2011 Earthquake. This is only one example of how extreme climate change can create an unlivable environment on Earth. If humans think that Earth is too dangerous for them, they may need to move to a lunar colony.

人類可能會需要搬到另外一個殖民地的另外一個原因是因為地球有極端的氣候變化。極端的氣候變化可能會導致很多熱乾旱和野火，這可能會影響到動物和人類的生活。嚴重的自然災害可能會造成環境破壞和失去生活。根據美國宇航局地球觀測站（Carlowicz，2021年）的數據，在日本2011年的地震中有40萬座建築物被摧毀，近16000人喪命。這只是一個例子，表示極端的氣候變化怎麼把地球變成一個無法居住的環球。如果人類覺得地球對他們來說太危險，他們可能會需要搬到地球殖民地。

Another possibility is that humans would want to explore space and possibly try to find facts about space that they couldn’t find while they were on Earth. According to NSS (Liss, 2017), we should live in space just for the ultimate purpose of exploring the New World.

The Goals For Our Colony 我們的殖民地的目標

In this paragraph of the article the goals this research team has for the new colony will be discussed. The first goal is to provide a place for humanity to live in. This research team thinks that this goal is important because at this present time, only Earth can let people live without difficulty. This means that we will need to adjust the environment when we move to another planet. The second goal is to provide enough resources and be organized. This research team knows this is important because if we have enough resources we won't need to worry about challenges of extreme population. an incident in 1989 called the Hillsborough disaster. Hillsborough was a stadium in England and due to bad organization in a overpopulated stadium, 97 lives were lost. According to Tikkanen, 2022), a police officer who did not plan and organize before the game ordered workers to open gate c without any police officers to organize the crowd. Many fans rushed into the main tunnel and went into sections 3 and 4. As fans rushed into the pens, a deadly crush resulted, as fans were trying to escape, the police did a poor job of organizing everyone and were slow to get help. In total 97 people were killed. In addition, 760 were injured. This is why organization is important.To illustrate the problem that might come with lacking resources we can see that having enough resources can avoid death from getting sick. According to The Atlantic (Patrick, 2012), “lack of resources have been linked to slow economic rates, inequality, and poverty.” The third goal is to keep people healthy and safe from . This research team thinks this is important because people don’t want to be living with a virus again. It could also possibly harm or kill them. Ever since Covid started, the world has become an entirely different place and many people are getting infected or losing their lives.The fourth goal is to provide a temperature system that can . The reason is because we will be living in a bubble most of the time, so we won’t often go out. The fifth goal is to maintain a happy society. According to Northwestern Medicine(n.d), “happiness lowers blood pressure, reduces stress, and enables better sleep”, so maintaining a happy society will make a more peaceful colony. The sixth goal is to provide a place where people feel no threat from. This research team knows that if there is war happening everywhere on Earth, it could result in death and destruction. In the past 100 years, there have been 15 destructive wars.. The seventh goal is to sustainably grow food that is abundant and nutritious for colonists. This research team knows that if we don’t grow food that is abundant and nutritious, colonists might become unfit.

These goals are based on the fact that the Earth might become uninhabitable and humans will need another place to live. The design of the colony was meant to address these needs.
