He said that he’s surprised that I eat breakfast at home, because he thought people in Taiwan prefer to eat outside.

He said that they have a cafeteria in school and they often eat there, but high school students prefer to eat outside.

=== 3. Differences in the way that your partner talks or communicates compared to what you are used to in your friends around you ===

He’s more polite and seems very curious about Taiwanese things.

=== 4. What are two things you had trouble understanding when you were talking to your partner? ===

In the beginning, there was another student who translated the information. But he left for some reason. Because of that, I have some trouble when he’s asking me the games I like and what kind of breakfast I usually eat.

=== 5.  What kind of things do you need to remember and what kind of skills are needed for cross-cultural communication? ===

I think I should improve my Japanese skill more, because I can only understand about twenty five percent of what he says, and I think I should try to not make myself so anxious.
