Yiler's story: Epilogue
By Yiler Huang
After Damon handed Maverick to Roderick, the musician thanked Damon and gleefully hosted a performance in the same park where Damon met him. The news about Roderick’s unplanned gig soon spread out to the whole city, and the snake wine dealer was the first to arrive at the park. After the gig, she satisfactorily gifted Damon a jar of snake wine, which Damon brought to the legendary fletcher Archershade.
The skillful fletcher crafted a bag of arrows for Damon in no time and accompanied him to the city gate where Damon left the city. The perfectionistic archer practiced on the hill as always and helped Damon to shoot an eagle down with the arrows crafted by the legendary fletcher himself.
Damon carried the dead eagle to the pound where the fisherman stood beside, whistling as he swung his fishing rod.
“You really killed an eagle, didn’t you.” The fisherman looked at the dead bird Damon carried with a bag, smiling.
“It was not exactly me, but here’s your eagle.”
“Thanks,” said the fisherman. “Your fish is in that bucket, pick the one you want yourself,” He pointed at a gray bucket on the ground behind him.
Damon picked up a medium-sized silver fish from the bucket and put it in a spare bucket the fisherman gave him. He thanked the fisherman and started strolling back home joyfully.
“Hey unc, it’s me. Damon.” Damon said as he knocked on his uncle Rowan’s door.
“Oh, you’re finally back.” Rowan opened the door. “Looks like you got a fish, good job Damon! The farm is yours now. Do you want to come inside and have some pie? I can finally start cooking it now I have the fish.” He said as he eyed the fish in Damon’s bucket.
Damon accepted Rowan’s invitation. He enjoyed the fish pie as he thought back about his short adventure in the city, and felt satisfied with all he had done.
