Status Quo Bias
By Daniel Chen
Status Quo Bias means people like things to stay the same because it feels safe and familiar, even if changing could be better. This happens because they're afraid of what could happen if things change, they don't want to lose what they already have, they're emotionally connected to how things are, and it's easier to keep doing what they've always done. For teenagers, things like their first group of friends or school are really important emotionally because they're still figuring out who they are. They might resist changing these things even if it could make their lives better.
