As part of our theme of public service announcements to improve the logic in our societal daily life, we worked with Taipei Municipal Da'An Junior High School, who worked with us and told us about one of the great tasks facing their students: the high school entrance exam. As we all know, English is one of the important subjects tested in this exam, and a big part of the test is regarding vocabulary.
Our students imagined and wrote interesting stories that utilized vocabulary words from a big “must know” list. At the same time, these stories illustrated and taught readers about some common cognitive biases and logical fallacies, information which is also increasingly important for the youth of today. Each chapter of the stories comes with an illustration and also listening practice, which explains the bias or fallacy of the chapter.
