John's mom told him to do the dishes, vacuum the living room, fold the laundry, clean the bathroom and kitchen, take out the trash, make his bed, sweep the porch, and water the plants in the garden. If he can do all of that every day, she will help him get the mouse he wants. “What? That's  impossible," John asks “What about letting me do the dishes and trash  every day?" his mother thinks for a second. After a period of dispute, they come out on “middle  ground."
