====== Reflection on the experimentation process ====== By: [[yuna-wu|Yuna]] This semester, we have a science experiment about testing UV. UV can be tested by UV sensor, so every student makes their own UV sensor for their science experiment. The experiment that I have test is “How does the Altitude level(海拔) affect the UV index?”. My hypothesis is that the higher the altitude level, the UV level will be higher. In order to prove my hypothesis is true, I went to Yangmingshan with the whole class. We went to places at different altitudes in Yangmingshan. Then, we put the UV sensor on the floor, and then I use the program that our classmate Steve make to record the test index of our UV sensor test, I do it for 60 seconds for one time at one place. After that, when we go back to school, we make our test index to table. The test index that I test in Yangmingshan is all similar, almost the same. I think it should not be like that, because I think the UV index must be some differences in different places. I think the reason that is similar is that maybe my UV sensor have some problem that I don’t know. I thought so, but my test results told me my hypothesis was wrong. I don’t really know the real reason, I only can guess that maybe my UV sensor have some problem. I think the problem in my UV sensor might be the circuit didn’t connect well. Before I didn’t find out that my UV sensor have problem, maybe is when we go to Yangmingshan, and then something happened so my UV sensor broken. I think during this experiment, I learn that sometimes the result may not be the result that you want, also, if you want the result and the experiment be easier you should prepare well. In this experiment, I feel was successful at collect all the data, at least I didn’t mess up with that. If I do a similar experiment, I’ll make sure my UV sensor is ok, and also prepare well with how my experiment will work better.
