======Input from the Taipei Museum of Contemporary Art====== Made by: [[zoey-lin|Zoey]] This week we went to the Taipei Museum of Contemporary Art(MoCA), it is the second time that the teacher takes us to the museum this semester. The theme of this visit to the museum is ⟪Transistors(轉接器)⟫. I like art very much but I wouldn't say I like to go to museums. the reason is that sometimes I can not get what it means or what they want to tell me about so sometimes I will feel confused. However, I still have some art that makes me feel interested. The first art that I feel interested in is ⟪Discharge What You Charged⟫ by HsienYu Cheng(鄭先喻). When you go into the exhibition hall you can see that have a lot of small boxes with USB charging cables. At that time my phone was almost no power so my first thought is there is a Charger I was going to charge. After I put my phone inside the box it is closed. I do not know what happen, After a few seconds a narrator came, and she told me this artist went people to stop looking at their phones because right now the average time that each person uses their phone is getting longer and longer. So the artist uses this art to force people to "temporarily separate" from their phones. Artists use very direct ways to tell people to stop using their phones. The second design is ⟪Annoyanony⟫ by HsienYu Cheng(鄭先喻). This artwork has one computer connected to a television and many speakers. On TV the designer has made a function that can make virtual phone numbers and email. Also, it will randomly select a number in the profile to make a call, after connecting. It will be linked to another device, over there it has another person that also connecting the phone called. And the two strangers will have and very special time together. so the visitors will be the third person that listens to the call. Through ⟪Annoyanony⟫ the artist unveils deep anxieties over and dialectic about privacy, ethics, and even human subjectivity, when the machine starts performing and mastering everyday human behaviors, such as making a phone call. I actually called the phone number that was on the TV, but only one person connects my call. he actually says hello to me but I was getting nervous so I just hang up the phone. After I saw all the artwork I found that two of the artwork that I feel interested in are all made by HsienYu Cheng(鄭先喻). The designer's work seems straightforward but when you understand the meaning behind the artwork you will feel surprised, that the two artworks are connected. One of the works is telling about the dependence on mobile phones, and the other one is telling human privacy. so I feel like human beings are very contradictory because we rely on mobile phones but do not want our privacy to be made public. it is just a feeling that I feel so it maybe not be the way that the designer feel.
